WWE Raw: The Shield Steal A Police Van To Save Finn Balor, Start Another Brawl

The Shield are on a roll, as just mere hours after being arrested, they returned to WWE Raw to save Finn Balor from a post-match beatdown at the hands of Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre. They paid dearly for their actions, though.

The beginning of WWE Raw started with Braun Strowman cutting a heel promo to confirm that his actions the previous week, betraying Roman Reigns in the main event tag match against Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler, constituted a change in character. The Shield emerged in response, starting a locker room-clearing brawl that eventually led to them being arrested.

Yes, WWE played up an angle where The Shield were arrested at 10 p.m. on Labor Day, and then fingerprinted, processed, arraigned, and released in a matter of hours. You know, for doing absolutely nothing except brawl on a wrestling show, whereas the heel trio got of scot free with the police.

In any case, it didn’t take long before Reigns, Ambrose, and Rollins reemerged. In the main event of Raw, Finn Balor was originally scheduled to face Baron Corbin in a rematch after Corbin blatantly cheated his way into a win last week. But because of the drama, Corbin had to back out and gave Balor another match against Strowman.

Of course, Strowman won, hitting Balor with a Running Powerslam for yet another victory over Finn. Afterwards, he, McIntyre, and Ziggler started viciously beating Balor down.

All of a sudden, we heard sirens in the distance, and we immediately realized that it would almost certainly be The Shield coming out to save Finn.

Though they did manage to stop Finn from suffering even more damage, they paid dearly for their actions. Right after emerging from the police van like bad-asses, they were attacked from behind by Jinder Mahal, Kevin Owens, and pretty much all the heels in the Raw locker room.

Reigns received the worst of the punishment, as McIntyre focused his attack on Reigns. It’s obvious that Drew has his eyes set on the Universal Championship, and I hope WWE keeps slow-burning the animosity between these two.

This second locker-room clearing brawl closed the show, as The Shield were laid out with the heels standing tall. McIntyre, Ziggler, and Strowman won this battle for sure, but will they get the last laugh on the go-home show before Hell in a Cell?

And can we talk about how Drew Gulak was there to attack Reigns?
