The second triple threat tag team match for a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships pitted SAnitY against The Usos and Rusev Day.

A week ago on SmackDown Live, The Bar defeated Gallows & Anderson and The Colons in a triple threat tag team match to earn a spot in a number one contender’s match. Their opponents were determined in another triple threat match this week, with The Usos, SAnitY, and Rusev Day vying for the opportunity.

With a prize on the line like a possible championship match, you could be sure heading in that the action would be fast and furious. I’m happy to report that was the case. Eric Young and Killian Dain represented SAnitY, and they were a well oiled machine.

The Usos, as former multiple time tag team champions, are no strangers to big matches like this. But Rusev and Aiden English recently withstood a rough patch in their friendship, only patching things up a few weeks back. Would they be able to coexist to have a chance at winning such an important match?

There was plenty of great action throughout, with the Usos providing their usual array of acrobatics, and Dain quietly establishing himself as a future monster (even if he came up with his new, bland ring gear). But at the end of the day, it was the teamwork and chemistry of Rusev Day that sealed the deal for the Bulgarian Brute and his personal troubadour.

Rusev went for a suicide dive late in the match, but Eric Young cut him off. Young tried to use leverage with his feet on the ropes for a pin, but English quickly broke it up. When Young took offense, it gave Rusev time to recover to load up a Machka Kick, which brought about the end of the match.

Before things wrapped up, The Bar came out on the stage to acknowledge their new opponents. Cesaro and Sheamus will take on Rusev Day next week on SmackDown, and the winners will go on to face New Day for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
