2. Rusev Day vs. The Usos vs. SAnitY
The tiff between Rusev and Aiden English that bean at Extreme Rules in July threatened to break up the Rusev Day team a few weeks back. But real friendship never fades and the two are back on the same page and now have a big target on their radar, namely The New Day and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
The Bar won a Triple Threat Match last week to advance to a number one contender’s match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, but Sheamus and Cesaro’s opponents would be determined last night in another Triple Threat Match between Rusev Day, The Usos, and SAnitY. It felt like the match could go either way, but the winners went exactly like the bulk of the audience wanted.
Things went back and forth for the majority of the match with each team threatening to take control of the match. But towards the end, things really got going when a bit of chaos ensued with each team getting involved. English’s overzealousness caused the tiff in his friendship with Rusev in the first place, but he was the key to saving the match for them last night.
When SAnitY leader Eric Young tried using the ropes to gain an unfair advantage over Rusev during a pin, English threw his feet off the rope from the outside. Rusev was able to take advantage and after a big kick, Rusev got the win for his team and Rusev Day will face The Bar next week for the right to challenge The New Day at Hell In A Cell for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. As far as this match goes, it was a solid match that really picked up towards the end.
Rusev Day might just have tag team gold in its future and it all started last night in a solid tag team match that saw Rusev and English get the win.
Final Grade: B+
