Five big matches have already been announced for WWE SmackDown this week. With the build to Sunday’s Hell in a Cell almost finished, follow along with our live review.

Previously on WWE SmackDown, R-Truth was victorious in the main event over former WWE Champion The Miz. That’s really all that matters, even though a bunch of other stuff happened.

On this week’s episode of SmackDown, General Manager Paige has already announced five matches to take place. It’s a far cry from Raw, where last night only a single match was previously announced — and it was changed at the last minute. So, kudos to Paige for doing her homework and actually planning out the show in advance.

The main event match will be a preview of Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay per view, as Brie Bella goes one on one against Maryse. At HIAC, the two will team up with their respective husbands for a personal mixed tag team clash. But tonight, it’s singles action. Who will put their team at an advantage heading into the pay per view?

To open the show, Shinsuke Nakamura returns to action for his first televised match since SummerSlam. The United States Champion will take on Jeff Hardy, days before Hardy enters the demonic Hell in a Cell structure against Randy Orton. Will The Viper get involved tonight on SmackDown?

In between, SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will tune up for her title defense on Sunday by taking on Sonya Deville tonight. Will Becky Lynch wait until Sunday, or will she try and get her hands on Charlotte a few days early? And R-Truth will face Andrade Almas, so hopefully Truth will continue his momentum with another high-profile match.

Finally, The Bar and Rusev Day will square up in a tag team match. The winners of tonight’s match will face New Day at Hell in a Cell for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Can Rusev Day keep the party train rolling? Or will The Bar earn yet another match against the pancake-powered champions?
