Randy Orton Twisted A Screwdriver Through Jeff Hardy’s Pierced Ear

We knew Randy Orton would do something obscene to Jeff Hardy during their WWE Hell in a Cell 2018 match inside of the cell, but I doubt anyone could have conceived an act as sick as Orton twisting a screwdriver through Hardy’s pierced ear.

The rivalry between Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy, two of WWE’s most treasured icons of the past two decades, was always meant to culminate inside of the Hell in a Cell. When it was revealed that this would be the match’s stipulation, many of us were focused on the insanity of Hardy in his first Hell in a Cell match.

Maybe we should have been just as “concerned” about what devious act Orton would have.

This feud has been all about Orton’s disdain for the WWE Universe. He first reappeared at Extreme Rules 2018 after Hardy lost his United States Championship to Shinsuke Nakamura. Orton wouldn’t stop terrorizing Hardy thereafter, making his life miserable.

The most heinous of his acts? A moment on SmackDown Live when Orton costed Hardy in his rematch for the United States Championship and then proceeded to drive his finger into Hardy’s pierced ear. It was a cringeworthy moment that left the audience stunned.

He topped that at Hell in a Cell.

Orton found a bunch of tools underneath the ring, bringing out a screwdriver. Once he saw this weapon, he only had one plan in mind: Twist the tool into Hardy’s ear and cause a ridiculous amount of suffering.

This was absolutely nuts, and if you find a video of this, be warned. It is absolutely gruesome, and it is evil heel Orton at his finest. The man is absolutely remorseless, and he will stop at nothing to inflict pain, especially on fan favorites like Jeff Hardy.

The match itself had been fantastic to that point, and it included an insane nearfall shortly afterwards in which Orton kicked out of a Swanton Bomb…while on a steel chair.

After all these years, Orton and Hardy are still two of the best, and the insane spots in this match, including when Orton threw Hardy stomach-first on a ladder and choked him out with a ladder later, have created a truly memorable Hell in a Cell match.

But that screwdriver spot? Yeah, that has a special place in hell.
