In the first WWE Mixed Match Challenge tournament, Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss became the best of friends in their “Team Little Big” pairing, but now that Bliss has suffered an arm injury, Strowman must develop a rapport with the “War Goddess” Ember Moon.
Alexa Bliss and Braun Strowman formed one of the best mixed tag teams during the inaugural WWE Mixed Match Challenge, and they remained tag team partners in the Mixed Match Challenge 2 when the details of the follow-up tournament were first announced.
Unfortunately, Bliss will need to be replaced as Strowman’s partner, as she has apparently suffered a left arm injury.
The news was broken by WWE via Cathy Kelley (did I finally spell her name right?), and you can watch a YouTube video of the announcement below.
Per the always eloquent Kelley, Bliss complained of numbness in her left arm this morning, though it didn’t seem like she suffered any injury last night on Raw. Bliss didn’t compete in a match, but she was at ringside and watched her best friends, Mickie James and Alicia Fox, lose a tag team match against Ember Moon and the returning Nia Jax.
So it’s kind of fitting that Moon will be the one to replace Bliss. Many WWE fans are unsure of Moon’s main roster character, but she has dazzled in the ring since being called up on the Raw after WrestleMania 34. The former NXT Women’s Champion has a certain mystique about her, which will make her pairing with Strowman all the more interesting to watch. This could lead to some interesting character development from Moon.
Moon and Strowman will face another interesting pairing in Kevin Owens and Natalya. While Strowman and Moon should be considered the favorites, anything can happen when the Mixed Match Challenge takes place tonight on Facebook Watch at 10 p.m. ET, immediately after SmackDown Live ends.
It is unclear if Bliss’s injury is a work or a shoot, and if she is dealing with numbness, hopefully it doesn’t end up being seriousness. “Numbness” always makes me nervous, so I hope Bliss is OK.
