The Sept. 17 edition of WWE Raw was a bit of an up and down show all things considered, but it ultimately wound up being an important show for the red brand following Hell In A Cell.
The post-Hell In A Cell edition of WWE Raw saw two unexpected championship matches along with a few other key developments to keep an eye on in the near future.
It should be interesting to see where the red brand goes from here with the next big event set to take place in Australia for WWE Super Show-Down. Let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Sept. 17 edition of WWE Raw.
5. Sasha Banks And Bayley Need Something To Do
One of the biggest angles on Monday nights in recent months came courtesy of the friendship, or lack thereof at that time, between Sasha Banks and Bayley. These two elite women’s competitors had a serious falling out that seemed like it had no end in sight.
In the end, their friendship was too strong and they got back on the same page where they remain still. Banks and Bayley have been a tag team of sorts since their reconciliation and had several matches where they looked very strong, but up until last night, they hadn’t been on TV much over the past few weeks.
That all changed last night when Bayley went one-on-one with Dana Brooke, although not much came out of it. In a short match, Bayley got the win and celebrated with The Boss after the dust had cleared. The situation for The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection needs to improve moving forward because both women are falling into the background right now.
It was exciting to see the feud between the two and once they got back on the same page, many expected big things from them as a tag team. However, not much has happened so far and given how important both women are, that needs to change. The Boss ‘n’ Hug Connection needs something to do to get back on track creatively.
There’s no denying the importance of The Hugger and The Boss, so the WWE needs to remember that and give these women some sort of creative direction.
