In a week that has featured Hell in a Cell, Brock Lesnar’s return, the return of Mixed Match Challenge, and the announcement of yet another show in Saudi Arabia, you could be excused for forgetting about NXT.

The developmental brand feels like it has taken a back-seat since SummerSlam, but the show still continues to produce some of the best matches on WWE television.

On this week’s show, North American Champion Ricochet and UK Champion Pete Dunne went one on one, with both men putting their belts on the line in the match-up.

The two men have been two of the brand’s biggest stars this year, so could they deliver when they went one on one? Let’s take a look at this week’s NXT and find out.

Lacey Evans and Aliyah Vs Deonna Purrazzo and Dakota Kai

Result: Lacey Evans and Aliyah win with the Women’s Right

Grade: C+

These four women are the stars of tomorrow when it comes to NXT’s women’s division, and they put on a really enjoyable match to kick proceedings off on this week’s show.

Lacey Evans, in particular, excels in her current role, and she was on fine form once again last night. Everything about Evans screams star, from her unique look to her solid work, and she was easily the star of this match-up.

The in-ring action was solid, and the women were given a surprisingly long amount of time to show what they can do. Dakota Kai is excellent as the division’s squeaky clean babyface, but it was a shame to see her take the pinfall in this match here.

With Evolution around the corner, hopefully some of these women will be provided an opportunity to show the WWE Universe exactly what they are capable of. I’d love to see Lacey Evans move up to a feud with NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane in the coming months.

On the whole, this was a really fun opening match that set a good tone for the rest of the night’s action.
