The Sept. 24 edition of WWE Raw saw its fair share of important moments and storyline developments along with a couple noteworthy matches as well.

Last night’s WWE Raw was crucial for the feud between The Shield and Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre while it also added to a few other feuds as well.

The red brand is gearing up for the Super Show-Down event in under two weeks and several of its top storylines will take place down under.  With that being said, let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Sept. 24 edition of WWE Raw.

5. The Riott Squad Gets A Much-Needed Win

The women’s evolution has given an abundance of women’s competitors on the WWE roster a chance to shine and that will continue in the future.  One group of women that haven’t always gotten a fair chance to shine, however, is The Riott Squad.

Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan started out on the SmackDown brand where they had widely inconsistent success and their move to Raw in the superstar shakeup earlier this year seemed like a chance for a fresh start.  While they have had a bit more success on the red brand, they still haven’t clicked on all cylinders yet, and their direction is still in question.

Last night gave The Riott Squad an opportunity when it faced The Bella Twins and Natalya in six-woman tag team action.  It felt like just another Riott Squad match where the trio would lose like it usually does, but that all changed towards the end.  Ruby, Morgan, and Logan weathered the storm from Nikki, Brie, and Nattie, and after Ruby took out Nattie, The Riott Squad was victorious.

It was a nice change of pace to finally see these women get a win because as of late, they have pretty much just been used to put over The Bella Twins, Ronda Rousey, Natalya, and Sasha Banks and Bayley to name a few.  This probably doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but at least it’s a win.  Don’t expect the same thing when The Riott Squad battles Rousey and The Bellas at Super Show-Down, however.

Any kind of momentum is important for The Riott Squad, and last night gave the heelish trio some of it.
