Impact Wrestling: Scarlett Bordeaux Needs To Get In The Ring
Last night on Impact Wrestling, newest Knockout Scarlett Bordeaux announced she’d be issuing a talent search for a very lucky man or woman who she could manage and impart her wisdom upon, but I think what we all really want to see is Scarlett Bordeaux get in the ring herself.
Scarlett Bordeaux has been a true jot to watch on the Impact Wrestling roster, and there is no doubt about that. Even thought her initial debut was a little rocky, Scarlett has become a shining feature on Impact programming. She brings a little sparkle of fun, and sometimes comedy, every time she’s on the screen.
Last week on Impact, it was teased that Scarlett would be making a big announcement this past Thursday, September 27th. Many thought that it would be something related to the performer finally paving a way for her first wrestling program on the show somehow, and we’d finally be able to get a glimpse of what Scarlett is capable of in the ring.
What ended up happening, however, was that Scarlett announced that she’d be embarking on a talent search of sorts in order to find a performer for her to focus all her time and energy on in order to make them the best.
Realistically, I’m not upset with it. Scarlett, like I’ve said, has been a tremendous standout on Impact programming thus far, and there’s no doubt that whoever Scarlett goes on to manage will be a huge success, even just by the virtue that Scarlett indelibly enhances the quality of her segments with her charm and her direct attitude. I’m keeping in mind also that she said she could manage either a man or a woman, and there’s a chance this story line could result in Scarlett managing a Knockout, making the Knockouts division a more unified front.
However, what I’m really waiting to see if when we’ll finally be able to get Scarlett Bordeaux in the ring. Again, I’ve loved what Scarlett’s been doing on Impact so far, but I’m really curious to see how her character fits in to the atmosphere of the Knockouts Division.
Lest we forget, since she’s debuted Scarlett has had a much better rapport with the men of Impact Wrestling than she has with the women. We recall the whole “Alicia Atout is a 5” promo, don’t we?
Scarlett Bordeaux’s promos aren’t the only thing she’s got going for her, though. Scarlett has had an extensive career that’s spanned throughout Ohio Valley Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and even a couple of appearances in WWE. She has literally given a Canadian Destroyer to her Impact roster-mate Trevor Lee before. This woman can wrestle, and I’m sure Impact signed her to their roster in order to actually get some wrestling in.
So why is Impact prolonging her in-ring debut? Quiet frankly, the Knockouts Division can use her for some fresh feuds. She has been wrestling on Impact Xplosion, an exclusive of the Global Wrestling Network, and some highlights have included a match between Scarlett and Katarina, which had some funny spots with Katarina’s, ahem, ex Grado.
If it’s clear that Scarlett’s character can work just as well for her in the ring as outside of it, why doesn’t Impact have on wrestling on television yet?
My personal hope is that from out of the “talent search”, Scarlett decides that the person she should be focusing all her time and energy on is herself, and that’s the impetus for her finally starting her singles career with Impact.
Either way, Scarlett Bordeaux is way too versatile for Impact to only focus on one of her skills. She’s truly become a star on this show, and to put her in her the ring seems like the obvious choice, so we can only hope it’s an inevitable one.
