Though little information is available, ‘Bruiserweight’ Pete Dunne has been pulled from a pair of shows in Canada this weekend with Destiny Wrestling after suffering an injury. The indy promotion later noted that WWE will be making an announcement in the coming days, meaning that it could keep the fan favorite out of action for at least a little bit of time.

It appears as though United Kingdom champion Pete Dunne has suffered an injury that could keep him from competition in the WWE.

Dunne was supposed to work a pair of dates in Canada through the weekend with Destiny Wrestling but the organization announced on social media Thursday (Oct. 4) that would not be making the trip from the U.K.

A follow-up tweet sent by the promotion later in the evening referenced an injury and noted that the WWE would be making an announcement in the coming days.

Known as the ‘Bruiserweight,’ Dunne is the longest-reigning champion in the WWE currently and marked his 500th day with the U.K. title earlier this week.

He’s slated to take on North American champion Ricochet and Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole on next week’s episode of NXT in a match that was taped in late September.

Dunne was slated to defend the Destiny title in Mississauga, Ontario this weekend against ‘Walking Weapon’ Josh Alexander.
