The Oct. 15 edition of WWE Raw felt like a rerun of recent episodes at times, but in the midst of that, a few noteworthy moments took place.
Last night’s WWE Raw was not an exceptional show in any way, but it wasn’t all lackluster despite feeling like the same show fans have been seeing for weeks now.
Evolution is under two weeks away and Crown Jewel is under three weeks away, so the red brand needs to get going more in anticipation of those events. With that being said, let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Oct. 15 edition of WWE Raw.
5. Bobby Lashley As A Heel Has Potential
Bobby Lashley has had a strange past few months in the WWE since his return to the company following WrestleMania 34. His babyface run had its moments and it appeared as if he was ready to break through into the main event scene, but that all changed.
Following a win over Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules, Lashley did not receive the opportunity to challenge for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. He was unable to recover from this for a while, but since his manager Lio Rush has been in the picture, Lashley has found a new purpose and a heel turn.
Rush has gotten a new side of Lashley to come out and it started last week when he attacked Kevin Owens after their match. His first full night as a heel came last night when he faced Tyler Breeze in a match that shined a light on his new heel persona of showing off and posing in muscular positions.
As expected, Breeze was no match for Lashley and the match ended early with Lashley standing tall. This wasn’t much, but it showed Lashley in a heel light and it could serve as the launching pad for his heel run. Maybe the WWE is finally ready to give Lashley a much-deserved push, who knows. The past couple of weeks are a step in the right direction it appears.
Lashley is looking to dominate and as a heel, he might be able to dominate to an extent he hasn’t been at since his return.
