On Jan. 29 in Chase Field, the WWE Royal Rumble 2019 will take place, and the show will contain the second Women’s Rumble in WWE history. Charlotte Flair seems like the clear favorite to come away the winner, but here are four other women who are candidates to join Asuka in the history books.

Last year, WWE’s first ever Women’s Royal Rumble was a huge success, as legends of the past shared the ring with stars of the present and future. Asuka managed to outlast Nikki Bella on the ring apron, becoming the inaugural winner and punching her ticket to WrestleMania.

At the WWE Royal Rumble 2019, Charlotte Flair, who defeated Asuka in a SmackDown Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 34 to break The Empress of Tomorrow’s record undefeated streak, looks like the early favorite to win the women’s match. If she does win, she could become one of the first women to main event WrestleMania, since it would be wise for WWE to give the ‘Mania main event to a women’s match in 2019.

While Charlotte is usually a part of history-making moments and seems like the favorite to win due to an impending title match with Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35, there’s no such thing as a foregone conclusion when the Rumble is involved. Few predicted that Shinsuke Nakamura would win the Men’s Rumble last year, and the Women’s Rumble could be just as unpredictable this year, especially since we saw Asuka challenge for the other brand’s title in 2018.

With all of that in mind, let’s take a look at five very early candidates to win the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble.
