Johnny Impact goes head-to-head with Rey Fenix for the Impact World Championship, but in a bigger test, Impact Wrestling goes head-to-head with their new 10 PM time slot on the Pop TV network.

Big things are happening for Impact Wrestling tonight, and yes, I only partially mean the Impact World Championship match between new World Champion Johnny Impact and Rey Fenix, the first person to answer Johnny’s “open challenge” of sorts.

That’s right – Impact Wrestling will be airing tonight in their new time slot at 10 PM. While the episodes are obviously pre-taped and the change won’t affect anything thematically, if you need to refer to our review because you couldn’t stay up and watch the whole show, then I think we can all guess how good that’s going to go.

Last week, newly-crowned World Champion Johnny Impact offered a sort of “open challenge”, saying he’d have respect for anyone who came out from the back to challenge him for his championship. Out, of course, came one of the most respectable performers on Impact, if not in all of pro-wrestling – Rey Fenix.

Rey Fenix has been having the year of his life, from his success on Impact, MLW, at All In, you name it. Will we see Fenix be crowned champion after tonight’s contest? Probably not, especially not so soon after Impact’s win. Do we deserve to see him as champion in the future? You bet we do.

Former Aries Crew members Moose and Killer Kross will face Team Loves of My Life, KM and Fallah Bah. Look at the description of this match currently featured on Impact’s website:

"Moose and Killer Kross are angry. They want to punish people and they may have the best chance at this tonight. Moose and Killer Kross take on KM and Fallah Bahh. We know that KM and Fallah have big hearts, but they might not be ready for this encounter. Moose and Killer Kross might run right over their opponents tonight."

First of all, Impact – how dare you? Where do you get off, huh? This isn’t even really a physical mismatch. KM is huge. Fallah Bah was this close to beating Austin Aries last month, right after Aries beat Moose.

I’m gonna call KM and Fallah winning this match. There’s no way Impact makes it sound that obvious that KM and Fallah are gonna get their bee-hinds handed to them and not have it turn out to be a “very stunning upset”. “Not ready for this encounter”… yeah. right.

Defensive? Maybe. Wrong? I don’t think so.

Tessa Blanchard will offer her rebuttal to the promo Taya Valkyire gave on Tessa last week. I called this in my Bound For Glory recap – Impact is doing right by continuing this feud even after Taya lost her Championship opportunity, because those two women create magic together in the ring.

To be honest, I’m a little sad it’s just promoing again this week, but on the flip-side, I’m also hoping Impact keeps Tessa and Taya away from each other for as long as they can so when they finally do meet… you catch my drift.

Su Yung and Kiera Hogan will go one-on-one also, and after Su sealed Kiera into a coffin and sent her packing into the Undead Realm, this one should be a little interesting, especially if the newly-possessed Allie makes a special appearance.

Next. How Impact's Nailed Allie's Undead Story Line. dark

All this and more tonight on Impact Wrestling at its new time, 10PM/9PM Central. Check in with us tomorrow morning for the recap; I’m going to need my beauty sleep after this.
