History will be made this Sunday with WWE Evolution 2018, the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view for the WWE in a night decades in the making.

WWE Evolution 2018 will honor the past, present, and future of women’s wrestling with several noteworthy matches, some of which fans thought they would never get to see.

This pay-per-view should be one to remember, but there are several storylines in place that help make this event feel big in the buildup towards it.  Which three storylines are the biggest?  With that being said, let’s take a look at the three biggest storylines heading into WWE Evolution 2018.

3. Can Alexa Bliss And Mickie James End The Trish Stratus And Lita Nostalgia Trip?

It has been years since fans have gotten the opportunity to see Trish Stratus and Lita compete in a WWE ring, two of the greatest women’s wrestlers in pro wrestling history.  Their in-ring return will take place this Sunday at Evolution in the form of a tag team match against two brash competitors looking to show their dominance.

Alexa Bliss was scheduled to face Trish at Evolution in a one-on-one match along with Mickie James vs. Lita, but the plans changed slightly to form this tag team match pitting Trish and Lita against Bliss and James.  In the weeks leading up to Evolution, this storyline has really taken off in this battle of generations.

Bliss and James represent the present-day women’s evolution while Trish and Lita represent the initial seeds planted for the women’s evolution throughout the Attitude Era.   As expected, these women have not gotten along in recent weeks.   Bliss and James continuously take shots at both Trish and Lita, calling them nostalgia acts.

However, the most recent edition of Raw suggested that Trish and Lita are more than capable of holding their own when they turned an attempted backstage ambush by James and Alicia Fox into a beatdown of the two.  The war of words will come to an end at Evolution and it should be interesting to see which side of this rivalry comes out on top.

The Attitude Era will meet the modern day on Sunday, but only one side can come out on top when all is said and done.
