Sasha Banks: ‘I’m The Greatest Women’s Wrestler This Company Has Ever Seen’

Sasha Banks is revered as a truly game-changing wrestler in WWE history, and she recently stated in an interview that she’s the best women’s wrestler in the promotion’s history. It’s a bold claim, but it’s one that is difficult to argue.

One of the most confident superstars in WWE, Sasha Banks has helped blaze a trail for women’s wrestlers, showing fans that women can be the best wrestlers in the company and the faces of their respective brands.

Banks is a four-time Raw Women’s Champion, a former NXT Champion, and main evented the Hell in a Cell Pay Per View (among her many other accomplishments in WWE). Many of the best women’s matches in WWE history have involved Banks, including the Triple Threat at WrestleMania 32, her title matches with Bayley in NXT, and her match against Asuka on Raw earlier this year.

To that note, Sky Sports asked Banks if she thinks it’s possible for a woman to be the best wrestler in WWE. Not only did Banks say that this is absolute possible, but she said that she’s “living proof” of this, asserting that she is the greatest women’s wrestler to ever step foot in a WWE ring.

"“I’m the greatest women’s wrestler this company has ever seen, and it’s going to take someone with a lot of hard work, a lot of dedication, passion to beat me.”"

It is so important for athletes to be supremely confident in their work, and I hope other great wrestlers like Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Ember Moon etc. feel the same way about the work they are producing each and ever week.

The fact that a woman can proudly say that they are unequivocally the best is yet another sign of how far women’s wrestling has come. And it isn’t because of WWE or any corporate person patting themselves on the back. No, the reason why women can proudly declare this is because of the work they put in and the passion they have for wrestling, which are the two traits Sasha brought up in her explanation.

At 8 p.m. ET on Oct. 28 at Evolution, Banks will team up with Natalya and Bayley to take on the Riott Squad. Although it isn’t one of the marquee matches on Evolution, Sasha will stop at no limit to make the match the best it can be by going all-out as a seller and technical wrestler. No matter where she is on the card, she puts in the effort, and that, in addition to her many classic matches, is what makes her the cream of the crop in WWE.
