WWE Rumors: Another Former Champion Is Headed To Evolution
WWE Evolution 2018 is a celebration of women’s wrestling in the company, so wrestlers from both the past and the present will compete in matches and a battle royal at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 28. Several former champions have already been announced for the show, but others could be making surprise appearances.
The WWE Evolution Pay Per View will be headlined by either Charlotte Flair vs. Becky Lynch in a “Last Woman Standing” match for Becky’s SmackDown Women’s Championship or Nikki Bella vs. Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship.
However, there will be a few other big matches, as the NXT Women’s Championship is on the line and the Mae Young Classic 2 finals will be contested between Io Shirai and Toni Storm. Two legends of the Attitude Era, Lita and Trish Stratus, will compete against two legends from the Divas Era, Mickie James and Alicia Fox, in tag team action.
Trish and Lita aren’t the only high-profile legends who will appear at Evolution, as PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson reports that former Divas Champion Eve Torres is in New York City for the Evolution PPV.
Eve remains popular among WWE fans today and was a solid in-ring competitor who boasted an impressive arsenal of moonsaults. There will be 20 women, including Alundra Blayze and Kelly Kelly, competing in a battle royal for a future title opportunity. Originally, 21 competitors were slated to compete in this match, but Fox was moved to the tag match with Alexa Bliss unable to compete due to a concussion.
It is possible for Eve to be added to that battle royal, and she’d be a welcome addition to the match. A three-time Divas Champion and one of the most decorated women’s wrestlers in WWE history, Eve has not competed in a WWE ring since losing a Divas Championship feud to Kaitlyn in January 2013.
Although Kaitlyn isn’t scheduled to compete at Evolution, she was a standout in the Mae Young Classic 2, so she’d be another “dream” surprise appearance at Evolution.
PW Insider also reported that Vickie Guerrero will be at Evolution, so between Torres and Guerrero, the WWE Universe could be in for even more excitement at Evolution, which promises to be a fabulous show worth cherishing.
