Becky Lynch Is Ready To Feud With Ronda Rousey

At WWE Evolution 2018, Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey faced very different challenges as champions going into the historic Pay Per View, but both emerged as “still” Women’s Champions. Next month at Survivor Series, the two could be headed for an instant classic.

Becky Lynch just might be the most captivating wrestler in the world right now, and she added another career-defining moment by putting on the WWE main roster “Match of the Year” at Evolution. Her “Last Woman Standing”match against Charlotte Flair will inspire a generation of wrestlers, and matches with that stipulation will undoubtedly refer to some of the banner moments of this match as reverential “callbacks”.

Ronda Rousey closed out Evolution with a solid performance against Nikki Bella, who made her detractors look foolish by shining against Rousey. Since joining WWE, Rousey has taken to pro wrestling perfectly inside the ring, even if her promos are either offensive or boring.

Thankfully, if WWE gives the fans what they seem to be clamoring for, Rousey’s still-improving promo skills won’t be a burden on a champion vs. champion feud against Becky at Survivor Series. Lynch can more than carry this feud with her charisma and quick wit, which she already showcased on social media by shading Rousey for following her on Twitter.

I mean, nobody was going to be able to follow what Lynch and Flair did at Evolution, and it was a head-scratching decision on WWE’s part to pretend otherwise. Nikki Bella and Rousey performed at a high level, but nothing could ever top a legitimate all-time classic between Flair and Lynch.

In any case, it took long enough for Rousey to follow Lynch, who has set a new benchmark for how a champion should carry themselves and engage an audience. A fan favorite through and through, Lynch will be cheered incessantly in a rivalry with Rousey, regardless of how much WWE tries to push Rousey, who is the bigger name in terms of media coverage, as the babyface. At this point, there isn’t a soul who will be cheered over Becky (refer to Edge as an example of Becky being cheered over a beloved Hall of Famer).

Rousey vs. Lynch could be another brilliant match and the best of Rousey’s career to this point, and it could easily steal the show as a champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series. Nothing is set in stone, but hopefully Lynch’s trolling of Rousey on Twitter leads to something more. We’ve been waiting for Dis-Arm-Her vs. Armbar, and while a Four Horsewomen vs. Four Horsewomen match sounds enticing, it’s better for Rousey vs. Lynch to come first.
