Please Let Sasha Banks And Bayley vs. Beth Phoenix And Natalya Happen
Sasha Banks’s social media game remains on point, as she teased the idea of a women’s tag match pitting herself and Bayley against the legendary tandem of Beth Phoenix and Natalya. Somehow, some way, this match needs to happen.
For months, the WWE Universe has been buzzing about the possibility of Women’s Tag Team Championships being instated in the near future. Many fans believed that these titles could be unveiled at the first all-women’s Pay Per View, Evolution, and WWE officials apparently passed out Women’s Tag Team Championship signs at the widely acclaimed show.
After working out their issues, Sasha Banks and Bayley have been on the same page, and the Boss and Hug Connection rivals the IIconics as the most in-tune women’s tag team in WWE. Heck, I bet Banks and Bayley could take The Usos and The New Day, but that’s a discussion for another time.
Back in the day, the WWE Women’s Division had some pretty awesome partnerships, namely Lay-Cool (Layla and Michelle McCool, who was at the Evolution Battle Royal). One of those duos was made up of Natalya and Beth Phoenix, who are two of the most bad-ass athletes the women’s division has seen.

After Beth Phoenix tweeted out a “We Want Women’s Tag Championships” poster, Banks quoted the tweet, wondering if it would be possible for “The Divas of Doom” (Phoenix and Natalya) to take on Banks and Bayley.
Many fans expect Banks and Bayley to win the Women’s Tag Titles whenever the championships are finally released, and it would be an absolute treat to watch those two defend the titles against legends of the past and present. Trish Stratus and Lita appear to be a tag team, and with Naomi and Asuka together and Ember Moon and Nia Jax potentially operating as a unit, there would be no shortage of challengers for The Boss and Hug Connection.
The real treat will be watching Banks and Bayley against the legends of the Divas Era and Attitude Era, because that’s what “dream matchups” are all about. Natalya and Beth Phoenix are two of the most important wrestlers in this company’s history, and we all know how good Nattie still is in the ring. After all, she was a SmackDown Women’s Champion in 2017.
This is a tag match I’m sure many fans would want to see, and it could be one of many title bouts for The Boss and Hug Connection when they establish the Women’s Tag Titles as important championships in WWE.
So, yes. Please make this match happen. Banks and Bayley will eventually have to lose those titles (oh, hello there, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce!). But until then, the WWE can put together some awesome matches. Given what Phoenix and Nattie can do, the Divas of Doom definitely have to be on the list.
Sasha has some pretty good ideas, huh?
