Tonight on WWE SmackDown Live, the blue brand begins the journey towards Survivor Series in two weeks. How will tonight’s episode of SmackDown lay down the foundations for what we’ll see at Survivor Series?

We’ve got some big things in store for us tonight on WWE SmackDown Live; the most prevalent of questions of course is “what exactly was Shane McMahon thinking at Crown Jewel there, huh?”

Of course, as you’ve all heard by now, at Crown Jewel last Friday during the WWE “World” Cup tournament, Shane McMahon jumped in place of an apparently injured Miz and secured the win for SmackDown, pinning Raw’s Dolph Ziggler in the process.

Shane will be here live tonight to start making preparations for Team SmackDown looking forward to Survivor Series, and I’m sure we’ll have some reasons or excuses for his actions last Friday during the tournament.

Becky Lynch will have a response tonight the the admittedly sub-par (sorry, it was) counter-promo Ronda Rousey delivered last night on Raw. The two women will have a Champion Versus Champion match at Survivor Series, and with both women vowing to rip the other one’s arm off (and with both women having the technical prowess to pull off a procedure like that), this one’s bound to get more heated tonight.

AJ Styles will also be here to address the Survivor Series match he now has against new Raw WWE Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, a notable rematch from last year’s Survivor Series that saw Styles ultimately defeated.

I could almost guarantee that this match-up between the two champions will be exactly as lackluster as it feels, even for a Styles match with some Paul Heyman promos attached.

SmackDown GM Paige will also be busy looking for recruits for Team Lady SmackDown. Former Women’s Champion Charlotte declined Paige’s offer to captain the team last week, so we’ll find out tonight if Charlotte has had a change of heart or if a new front-runner will emerge.

BELOW IS A SPOILER, SEEING AS SMACKDOWN IS CURRENTLY BEING FILMED IN ENGLAND FIVE HOURS AHEAD OF ME HERE IN NEW YORK. IT DOESN’T INCLUDE A RESULT, BUT IF YOU WANT TO BE SURPRISED, CLOSE YOUR EYES!

Apparently Rey Mysterio has a match against Andrade “Cien” Almas tonight. This has been widely regarded by wrestling fans as being a WWE dream match, so this match will hopefully be booked to be the show-stealer it deserves to be.

All this and more tonight on WWE SmackDown Live. Tune into the USA Network for all the action at 8PM/7PM Central, and be sure to tune in here with us tonight for all the live (ish) results, reviews, and analysis of tonight’s show!
