3. Finn Balor

Whenever you see a list of who should be the next WWE Universal Champion, Finn Balor is a name that you see on most of them. The inaugural Universal Champion made his debut on the main roster in a strong showing. He quickly made his impact by winning the Universal championship after less than a full month on the main roster. Unfortunately, he would be forced to relinquish the belt less than a full day into his title reign due to an injury.

Since then, Balor has been fighting to find his place back at the top of the roster. Balor remains one of the most popular superstars on the roster. People are still rallying for Finn to have his true rematch for the title that he never actually lost. He has had a few one-off attempts to regain the title, but to no avail.

Finn’s most recent title shot came the night after Roman Reigns won the championship. Roman selected Balor to be the first person he defended the title against. Finn had a great match with Roman but came up short. He then returned to the mid-card status that he has fought so hard to get out of. Out of everyone on the RAW roster, Balor is possibly the most overlooked superstar.

With the Mixed Match Challenge, Finn has been focused on his tag team with Bayley. He was a crucial missing piece that many were looking for in the WWE World Cup. The fans want to see Finn Balor get pushed back to the top. They were so sure about him before his untimely injury. They could easily invest back into Balor by having him be next in line to take down The Beast.
