Picture it – Daniel Bryan vs The Miz for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35. Has a nice ring to it, right? Here’s how, and why, we should see it happen.
Ever since Daniel Bryan was cleared to return to in-ring action, all we wanted to see was him and The Miz go at it. There was tension building between them even when Bryan wasn’t even a part of the active roster.
At this point in November of 2018, we have already seen a few variations of this match including mixed tag matches with their wives, matches ended with brass knuckles, and even a 2 minute small package victory to determine a number one contender for the WWE Championship.
What we haven’t seen yet is these two have a match when the biggest prize in the company is on the line. In my opinion, WrestleMania 35 would be the perfect place to have The Miz vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and here are three reasons why.
There’s Plenty of History
As you all know, these 2 have some serious history. Daniel Bryan was the Miz’s rookie during the first season of NXT. Miz, being the cocky and entitled character he is, took full advantage of being the man in charge and routinely embarrassed Bryan on national television even though Bryan had many more years of prior experience wrestling throughout the independent circuit.
Some would even say that The Miz made Daniel Bryan’s life a living hell during his time in NXT. After a relatively short but successful WWE career, Daniel Bryan was forced to retire due to injuries sustained in the ring.
Fast forward to the infamous episode of Talking Smack where The Miz berated Daniel Bryan to such an extent that Bryan had to excuse himself, making every viewer question if Miz was working or being legitimate.
Behind the scenes, Daniel Bryan was going through non-stop rehabilitation and rigorous training and was, to the surprise of everyone, cleared to return to in-ring action, so naturally it was only a matter of time until these two bulls locked horns.
