Report: Trevor Lee Parts Ways With Impact Wrestling
Former Impact Wrestling X Division Champion Trevor Lee will reportedly be parting ways with the company after his contract expires at the end of the year. Lee debuted with Impact in 2015.
PWInsider has reported that former Impact Wrestling X Division Champion Trevor Lee has parted ways with the company after being on the roster for three years.
Lee made his Impact Wrestling debut in 2015 and was part of of a tag team with Brian Myers (now WWE’s Curt Hawkins) before becoming X Division Champion in 2016. Lee also went on to partake in various programs with performers like Greg “Hurricane” Helms and Andrew Everett; his most recent role with Impact was as a part of The Cult Of Lee with Caleb Konley.
Lee’s last features on Impact were a short program against Petey Williams, stemming from an encounter between the two during Scarlett Bordeaux’s talent search, as well as losing bouts against Ethan Page and Sami Callihan.
PWInsider reported that Lee was present at Impact’s most recent tapings in Las Vegas, where he was featured in a match against hometown hero, Killer Kross. Lee’s contract with Impact won’t be officially expired until December 31st.
PWI Insider is also reporting that WWE (more specifically, NXT) has expressed significant interest in signing Lee. NXT is supposedly slated to announce a list of new signings early next year.
I’ve been a fan of Trevor Lee for the entirety of his Impact career, and in all honesty, you could tell it was time for him to move on. He was lately only being used as a jobber for newer Impact signings, and that’s not a fair place for him at all. Lee is still incredibly young, however, and should he eventually find himself in NXT, his youth and experience will surely propel him through the ranks there quickly.
