This week in WWE, 205 Live and NXT UK continued to show why they are worth watching weekly, as the UK brand once again had two of the best matches of the week.

Lio Rush has been a big part of WWE Raw as Bobby Lashley’s manager, annoying crowds on a weekly basis with his “Lashley!” chants. Those cries can be heard in nightmares across the United States and around the world, which means that Rush has done a dang good job. Of course, where Rush excels the most is inside the squared circle, and he headlines this week’s list of the top five matches in WWE.

NXT UK: Dakota Kai vs. Nina Samuels

But first, let’s briefly discuss an NXT UK match that earns some praise. Dakota Kai has been one of WWE’s most underrated performers this year, and hopefully her work against Shayna Baszler several months ago doesn’t go neglected when end-of-year rankings populate websites, such as ours. Kai is a phenomenal story-teller whose intense kicks are only overshadowed by her ability to portray desperation, vulnerability, agony, or anything in between.

Meanwhile, Nina Samuels is the definition of a rising star, having just won the Pro Wrestling: EVE Championship in the most unwelcome of ways, breaking up a dream match between elite talents Kay Lee Ray and Charlie Morgan.

Here in NXT UK, Samuels was unable to get past Kai, who has been standout on the early episodes of WWE’s latest brand. In defeat, however, Samuels did manage to shine, and this was yet another quality match from the women of NXT UK.
