Yes, WWE, We Need Nita Strauss To Make Becky Lynch A New Theme
Nita Strauss’s song “Mariana Trench” was used as one of the WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2 theme songs, and now she’s teasing the idea of writing a new theme song for the most popular superstar in the company, Becky Lynch.
While there’s nothing wrong with Becky Lynch’s current theme song “Celtic Invasion”, which always gives me goosebumps when the crowd sings along to it, WWE could give her an updated theme to reflect her new, bad-ass character as “The Man”.
And who better to write that song than Nita Strauss, who is one of the best guitarists on the planet?
Strauss’s song “Mariana Trench” was one of the three epic themes used by NXT for their TakeOver: WarGames 2 special, and the Alice Cooper guitarist served up a tremendous rendition of Shinsuke Nakamura’s theme as part of his WrestleMania 34 entrance for a WWE Championship “dream match” against Shinsuke Nakamura.
She also seemed to have an awesome time in attendance at the TakeOver: WarGames 2 show, as she appeared in the audience and on the kick-off show panel. Strauss discussed Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler and had some general praise for NXT and professional wrestling as a whole.
And as you can see in the above backstage interview with Sarah Schreiber, Strauss teased the idea of writing a WWE Superstar’s theme song, and she threw out “The Man”, Becky Lynch, as a possible suggestion.
Lynch is a fan of rock, and while she’s more into softer rock, like Pearl Jam, now, she grew up on metal. She also once spoke to Loudwire about how wrestling and metal go hand-in-hand, so it would b fitting for her to have a new theme filled with the frenetic drumming and mind-blowing riffs that are customary of Strauss’s music.
Again, it’s not like “Celtic Invasion” is a bad theme, and it has served Lynch so well, especially when it comes to crowd support. Fans love singing along to the theme, in a way that brings even more chills than even the fans overtures to Shinsuke Nakamura’s first theme did,
But it’s time for a change, as Lynch is more than just the lovable babyface of the WWE; she’s “The Man” and on a path to eternal glory, which could include winning the Royal Rumble and owning Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35 as one of the first women to main event the biggest Pay Per View in wrestling.
Imagine her coming out to a new Strauss-created theme as part of a live WrestleMania 35 performance before kicking Rousey’s ass? Yeah, that sounds pretty awesome.
So WWE and WWE Universe? Let’s try to make this happen! Strauss definitely cooks up some sick tracks, as evidenced by her recently-released album, aptly titled Controlled Chaos.
