Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio hit Randy Orton with a senton on the outside after teasing a 6-1-9, but the advantage was short-lived when Mysterio dropped him on the top rope. Orton, of course, went for the mask, which he insulted earlier in the show as being a symbol that means nothing to him, but, thankfully, he was unable to remove it. I wonder how Rey will respond to that…

Unfortunately for Mysterio, he was only getting beaten down more by the fired-up Orton, who once again went for the mask after propping up Rey on the other top rope. This time, he nearly tore it off completely, as Mysterio was barely able to maintain the integrity of the mask.

Mysterio tried to come back at Orton by hitting a missile dropkick, but Orton simply side-stepped him before taunting Rey some more, playing with his wounded prey.

However, the time Orton took hurt him, as Rey was able to fight back this time and create an opening for himself. Mysterio’s speed and agility started to give him a huge advantage, and it took a tough kick-out from Orton to stay in the match following a leg drop. Orton then had to counter a 6-1-9.

Orton was finally hit by a 6-1-9 just moments later, but he prevented a sure-fire loss by wisely rolling to the outside on instinct. Mysterio saw Orton vulnerable on the outside, and as he dove to the outside, Mr. I Hate Dives hit Mysterio with a BEAUTIFUL RKO to take the advantage.

Though he likely had the match won already, Orton disrespected Mysterio again by toying with his mask before delivering a second RKO for the win.

And man oh man, I really want Mysterio to get his revenge on the contemptible Orton!

But it wasn’t over yet…Orton went to collect a steel chair, bringing it over to a prone, defenseless Mysterio. He wrapped it around Rey, smashing the veteran’s face into the ring post before grabbing the fallen mask, holding it up as if he just “conquered” Mysterio.

The stunned audience looked on, horrified at The Viper’s actions.

Rating: Very Good. I’m intrigued to see where this storyline goes, and I cannot wait for Rey Mysterio to get his revenge.
