Shayna Baszler vs. Becky Lynch Is The Better Twitter Feud
Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey have been throwing barbs at each other on social media ever since the build to their initially scheduled match at Survivor Series, but perhaps Becky vs. Shayna Baszler is the better Twitter feud.
At this moment in time, there’s nobody on the WWE roster who can hang with Becky Lynch. “The Man” has ruled the Twitter world for the past couple of months, and she’s mostly victimized Ronda Rousey, whose retorts back at Becky resemble that of a middle school boy in comparison to Becky’s multi-faceted disses that truly do BURN.
Becky and “Ronnie” had another back-and-forth this week, and Lynch decided to call out Shayna Baszler as a response to yet another one of Rousey’s incoherent tweets.
Shayna didn’t take too kindly to Lynch name-dropping her, and the eloquent “Queen of Spades” sent “The Man” an insult of her own, reminding Becky that she never won the NXT Women’s Championship.
Baszler vs. Lynch could be quite the awesome feud, and this quote-tweet is a small snippet into why this could be a much more entertaining feud than even Lynch vs. Rousey. Yes, it’s been awesome to watch Lynch ether Rousey into the oblivion, but wouldn’t it be more interesting to watch Lynch and Baszler trade verbal and literal punches? As you can see, Baszler is clearly more equipped to hang with Becky than Ronda is, when it comes to social media and promos.
As a two-time NXT Women’s Champion, Baszler has been an absolute star and is arguably the main roster’s best heel right now. Menacing and technically proficient in the ring, Baszler came into WWE as a much better pro wrestler than many assumed, as her portrayal as a former MMA star honestly undersold her character work and understanding of pro wrestling.
She’s quickly adjusted to WWE, and her long-term feud with Kairi Sane was one of the best stories in WWE between 2017 and 2018. What’s next for Baszler isn’t entirely clear, but she’s in a great spot as a champion, flanked by the strong, cerebral duo of Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.
One day, Baszler and Lynch will cross paths on WWE Television, but, until then, these Twitter battles will have to appease us as we await this dream match in 2019 (fingers crossed).
