First of all, Pop was playing my favorite movie of all time, Moonstruck, before Impact went on, so I think this is a sign of good things to come for tonight.

Willie Mac and Rich Swann vs. The Lucha Brothers

Impact airs tonight again from Las Vegas, NV, and the show begins with the tag-match between Rich Swann and Willie Mac, and The Lucha Brothers Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix. I can already feel Willie Mac being the difference-maker here tonight – not only is he a flyer like the other three men in this match, but he has a significant size advantage.

Fenix and Swann begin the match, with Pentagon jumping in excitement on the apron. The two are just so synchronized and move together for phonetically that this hardly feels like a wrestling match.

Willie and Penta get tagged in, and suddenly it’s a different kind of match. Penta and Willie are shoving their hands in each other’s faces; it’s very convenient their hand gestures are identical. All of a sudden, Fenix and Swann jump in, and there’s a superkick party in the ring.

Penta lands some kicks into Willie, and Mack counters with a superkick of his own. After another kick from Penta, Willie counters with a huge head-scissor.

Willie and Swann take turns splashing over and over again onto Penta and Fenix, but Willie is unsuccessful in a pin attempt.

Fenix lands a double cut on Swann and Willie, and Penta lands a slingblade. Are we sure this wasn’t supposed to be a tornado tag match?

Swann lands a Phoenix Splash (ironic, no?) on the outside, but Fenix climbs the ropes and, in typical Fenix fashion, jumps on and off the ropes before landing a huge dive.

We return from commercial with strike-match between Willie and Fenix. Willie is definitely getting the upper hand, but when he launches Fenix into the ropes, Feniz swings back for the takedown.

Fenix lands a Fear Factor on the apron and hits a flying headbutt into Willie. After the Luchas double-team Mac in the center of the ring, Penta gets the pin.

Grade: a bagillion stars. These men don’t even seem human when they all get in the ring together.

After the match, LAX comes out to the ring to congratulate the Luchas. The crowd begins a loud chant of “this is awesome!”

LAX still wants the Luchas to challenge them for the Impact Tag Team Championships. Someone from the crowd yells, “you ain’t beating Pentagon, bro,” but LAX wants to give their “familia” a chance at the championships at Homecoming. The Luchas graciously accept, and we have a match set for January 6th.
