Asuka Can Begin A New Feud

Although it has been great to see Asuka blossom as a tag team wrestler with Naomi by her side, it’s time for The Empress of Tomorrow to embark on a new challenge as a singles wrestler. Aside from her one-sided feud with Carmella, Asuka hasn’t been given a steady program on SmackDown Live as a singles competitor, but that shouldn’t be the norm for someone as talented as her.

The crowd has always remained behind Asuka in some way, regardless of the losses she’s taken. Whenever she enters the match and starts laying it in with her kicks, the crowd goes nuts. And when Becky Lynch teased picking Asuka to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, Asuka received a monstrous pop, indicating that the fans are still itching to see her in marquee matches.

A Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship is definitely a marquee match, and it should 100-percent be the main event of TLC, especially with Becky and Charlotte joining Asuka in the ring.

And if Asuka wins, that could begin her next rivalry against either of them, depending on who just misses out. It’s easy to envision Becky vs. Asuka as a feud, especially given all the kind words Becky has said about Asuka. The rematch and subsequent bouts write themselves all the way up to the Royal Rumble.

The alternative, a Charlotte vs. Asuka program, is just as exciting. Not only would Asuka get revenge on Charlotte by beating her at TLC, but she could also continue to impose her will on Charlotte over the course of December and January.
