The Dec. 3 edition of WWE Raw continued the trend of boring recent episodes of the red brand, but throughout the course of the show, there were a few crucial and important moments.
Last night’s WWE Raw was pretty close to a copy of last week’s show and not in a good way, but there were a handful of moments that are important moving forward heading into TLC and beyond.
There’s really only a couple angles currently going on the red brand that are intriguing, and that must change sooner than later. Let’s take a look at five key takeaways from the Dec. 3 edition of WWE Raw.
5. The Riott Squad Finally Has A Legit Feud On Raw
So many superstars on the WWE’s main roster have had to deal with a lack of creative direction, but not many to the extent of what The Riott Squad has had to deal with. From the group’s time on SmackDown and Raw, the direction just hasn’t consistently been there for Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, and Sarah Logan.
The closest thing to a feud that The Riott Squad has had in recent months was the issues with Sasha Banks and Bayley, but in recent memory, a legitimate feud has risen with Natalya. It all started when Ruby Riott broke the sunglasses that belonged to Natalya’s late father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. Since then, this trio has made Nattie’s life a living nightmare.
The Riott Squad have jumped Natalya week after week, and it continued last night. It was set to be Ronda Rousey and Natalya vs. Nia Jax and Tamina to open up the show, but things broke down once The Riott Squad came out. Jax and Tamina got the upper hand over Rousey and Ruby, Morgan, and Logan did the same on the outside to Nattie.
It’s a bit confusing seeing these two separate storylines overlapping, but it doesn’t change the premise that The Riott Squad finally has a legitimate feud on Monday nights. The trio has not had that so far this year, so this is a big step. This finally looks like that heel group that everyone thought could come out of the main roster debut of these three women.
It could just fizzle out given the WWE’s inconsistency, but it’s nice to see The Riott Squad finally having something to take part in that’s meaningful.
