Last week, Monday Night Raw took a major step in the right direction. The show thoroughly built up some of the excitement that’s been missing from the red brand in recent weeks. Find out if I think WWE Raw can sustain that momentum on the eve of Tables, Ladders, and Chairs!

After one of the more terrible episodes of WWE Raw in recent memory two weeks ago, last week the red brand was able to pull together a quality episode to save the show’s TLC build.

Gone were the bathroom jokes and terrible promos we were forced to endure a week prior. Instead, we were treated to an entertaining Dean Ambrose segment, the potential beginnings of a major face turn for one of WWE’s most underrated stars, and two segments which actually built some excitement for Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax’s match at TLC.

Now, WWE is faced with following up that great episode while bringing all of the major storylines to a proper stopping place before TLC. What appears to be their plan, you might ask?

The plan is to have Alexa Bliss host a press conference with Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey live on Raw.

Normally, I would give these kind of segments a chance. Much like contract signings, a face-to-face confrontation segment like what this one will probably be can occasionally lead to some brilliance.

However, in recent weeks we’ve seen this same segment bomb in a major way. Bayley and Sasha Banks, two competitors who are quite good on the mic I might add, weren’t able to do anything intriguing with the press conference format.

Now, we get to see WWE throw two superstars who are far less adept on the mic into the same situation we literally just saw fail. Honestly, it seems like a disaster just waiting to happen.

Luckily, that’s not the only storyline on Raw this week though. In fact, besides the press conference, Raw actually might be positioned for an episode that can build on last week’s solid foundation of storyline developments, starting with continuing the explosive feud between Natalya and The Riott Squad.
