Whether it was Mustafa Ali or Bianca Belair,  WWE had a number of superstars either become fan favorites or excellent foils in 2018. Narrowing the list down to 10 was difficult, but here are this year’s biggest breakout candidates in wrestling’s most-viewed promotion.

With Raw, SmackDown Live, NXT UK, 205 Live, and NXT, WWE has five shows consistently pumping out excellent content on a weekly basis. With a talent roster exceeding 100 competitors, WWE certainly didn’t have a shortage of breakout candidates to choose from when creating this list of the top 10 breakout stars of 2018.

Baron Corbin, Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, Drake Maverick, Lio Rush, and Zelina Vega all deserve shoutouts as a handful of honorable mentions who just missed the cut. But thanks to input from my friends on Twitter (shoutout to Corey Brewer for suggesting Elias and tj_siren for telling me to put on Bianca Belair), this list of 10 is tough to beat.

There is also a representative from each brand. 205 Live has two superstars, NXT has three, NXT UK has one, SmackDown has two, and Raw has two wrestlers on this list. That goes to show you just how well-rounded WWE’s talent roster is, and there will surely be even more breakout candidates in 2019. (My eyes are on Jinny, Dakota Kai, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir, Travis Banks, Ligero, and Jordan Devlin on the NXT and NXT UK brands.)
