WWE TLC 2018: Full Match Card, Start Time, How to Watch
By Bryan Heaton
Raw and SmackDown Live team up for their final pay per view of the year with WWE TLC 2018. If you need a refresher on the card, or information on how and when to watch, you’re in the right place.
As December draws to an end, WWE TLC 2018 is the company’s final pay per view offering of the year. This year’s event is the tenth in the TLC history, as the superstars of WWE take to using tables, ladders, and chairs (oh my!) to put a hurting on their opponents. We, uh, won’t mention that one year where stairs were involved; it’s for the best.
Despite sagging ratings and a general fan displeasure with the product, the card for TLC this year is actually pretty impressive… in some cases. There’s a sure-to-be classic Intercontinental Championship match that has turned deeply personal. The SmackDown Women’s Championship Triple Threat TLC match, featuring all available weapons, is also primed to bring down the house.
But there’s a few matches that just seem out of place, whether due to being overplayed or too random. A Ladder Match with a guitar suspended above the ring? Yet another match between two of the British Isles’s most talented wrestlers? And we’re leaving out superstars like Rusev, Shinsuke Nakamura, and Dolph Ziggler?
Of course, with Vince McMahon returning to “shake things up” on Raw the night after TLC, there’s a good chance this pay per view’s results will be irrelevant. So no reason to get all up in arms over the show, because 24 hours later nothing will matter about it.
Per WWE’s official website, here’s the full match card for WWE TLC 2018:
"WWE Championship MatchDaniel Bryan (c) vs. AJ StylesIntercontinental Championship MatchSeth Rollins (c) vs. Dean AmbroseBraun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match)Raw Women’s Championship MatchRonda Rousey (c) vs. Nia JaxSmackDown Women’s Championship Triple Threat MatchBecky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match)SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat MatchThe Bar (c) vs. The New Day vs. The UsosNatalya vs. Ruby Riott (Tables Match)Finn Bálor vs. Drew McIntyreElias vs. Bobby Lashley (Ladder Match)WWE Cruiserweight Championship MatchBuddy Murphy (c) vs. Cedric AlexanderMixed Match Challenge Season 2 FinalsR-Truth & Carmella vs. Jinder Mahal & Alicia FoxRey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton (Chairs Match)"
Yes, twelve matches seems like a lot, and while at least one, if not more, will likely be on the Kickoff Show, it’s a heck of a lot of wrestling for a Sunday night in December. (As of this writing, none of the matches have been announced for the Kickoff; and there’s some question as to the health of Strowman and Bálor that may jeopardize their matches on the show.)
For the second straight pay per view, WWE TLC 2018 takes place in California. While Survivor Series was a SoCal event, this time we move up north to the SAP Center in San Jose. The action gets under way on Sunday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. ET. If you won’t be in the Bay Area, tune in to the WWE Network to catch all the excitement.
Before the main show starts, WWE presents the Kickoff Show one hour earlier. At 6 p.m. ET, the usual suspects will be on hand as the pre-show panel breaks down the entire card. Besides watching the Kickoff on the WWE Network, you can find it on WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
Are we excited for WWE TLC 2018 to bring WWE’s up and down year to an end?
