The Bar vs. The New Day vs. The Usos
Kofi Kingston and Sheamus start off the match. Kofi goes for a quick pin attempt, which obviously doesn’t work. Sheamus goes for a pin soon after; again, it doesn’t work just yet. Sheamus gets Kofi in a headlock, which Kofi counters with strikes.
Kofi goes for another pin after a dropkick, but no dice. Kofi splashes Sheamus, but Xavier gets tagged in and tries for the pin. Cesaro breaks it up, and then everyone takes that as an opportunity to storm the ring.
Xavier is legal, and soon The Bar are tag-teaming him. Xavier is eventually able to power out a bit and try for a pin attempt, but Sheamus catches him and drags him back to the opposite corner.
Kofi and Cesaro become legal, and Kofi is now totally in charge. However, when he goes for Trouble in Paradise, Cesaro counters and drives him into the corner. The Usos tag in, and even though he’s not legal, Kofi goes for a splash. Cesaro catches him in Vertical Suplex position, but Jimmy Uso crossbodies them both.
Jey’s tagged in, and then he superkicks everyone. Kofi gets stuck in a pop-up Samoa Drop. Jimmy lands a splash on Kofi, but Cesaro sneakily tags in and tries to get the pin. Cesaro takes Kofi swinging and gets Kofi in the sharp shooter. Big E runs over to get some encouraging words in for Kofi.
Xavier breaks the hold, and Sheamus becomes legal. Sheamus goes for the Brogue Kick on Kofi, but he misses and Kofi counters with a roll-up, but he doesn’t get the pin. Xavier gets tagged in, and he goes corner-to-corner, effectively, with a huge elbow drop on Sheamus.
Everyone’s in the middle of the ring again. Jimmy Uso lands another pop-up hit on Cesaro. Kofi climbs up to the top turnbuckle to splash onto everyone at ringside.
Xavier and Sheamus are still in the ring, and Sheamus lands the Brogue Kick for the win.
Grade: Really fun! Great, big spots, not a lot of “too many men in the ring” confusion. Another testament to why SmackDown’s Tag Team division is a huge draw. *Ahem* we’re looking at you, Raw.
