WWE NXT: Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano Go To War In A Steel Cage Tonight

Tonight, Johnny Gargano and Aleister Black meet inside the confines of a steel cage on WWE NXT.  Gargano and Black both appear ready to do anything necessary to win, meaning this match could decide the future direction of the entire NXT brand as we know it!

Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano have been wrapped up in one of WWE’s most explosive feuds ever since Gargano revealed himself as Black’s assailant on the October 24th episode of NXT.

The two have been trying to tear each other apart ever since then. Their match at NXT Takeover: WarGames II was suppose to be where they settled this blood feud before it went any further.

Despite putting on an instant match of the year contender, that match wasn’t enough though. The animosity between these two competitors simply runs too deep for a simple singles match to settle it seems.

Now, the two faces of NXT have been goaded by Tommaso Ciampa into a steel cage match tonight to finish their feud once and for all:

Both superstars say they need this match to close the door on this fiery chapter of NXT history. Black claims he attempted to “absolve” Gargano of his sins at Takeover, but now he knows Gargano simply can’t be saved. Gargano claims Black is still in the way of his ultimate underdog story gone wrong by being the number 1 contender for Ciampa’s NXT Championship.

With the stage that’s been set, this match may do more than just settle who ultimately deserves an NXT Championship match, however. It may just be the final match that decides the entire direction of NXT heading into 2019.

Johnny Gargano’s humanity has slowly been slipping away in recent months. He seems so focused on destroying Tommaso Ciampa that he could stoop to any level to get his way. That could include doing any number of unthinkable things to Aleister Black tonight in a steel cage.

Gargano could put an end to Black’s NXT Championship dreams once and for all tonight. He’s simply that dangerous. We don’t really know what’s the lowest Gargano is willing to sink in order to get his way. If Gargano ends up victorious, who knows if he would even allow Black to walk out of the steel cage if he knows he’s still not guaranteed to get his rematch against Ciampa.

Similarly, its impossible to know what mindset Aleister Black will be in now that he claims Gargano is too far gone. It’s more than a possibility that Black tries to put Gargano out of commission in this dangerous environment tonight in order to ensure a clear path to Ciampa at NXT Takeover: Phoenix.

Its clear that no matter which superstar ends up victorious, this match is almost certain to decide what direction NXT’s main event picture will take in the first months of 2019. Tonight’s steel cage match is truly the climatic battle WWE NXT fans deserve to close out 2018 in dramatic fashion!
