The WWE Royal Rumble is always the launching pad for the Road to WrestleMania, and it also provides the opportunity for 30 men and 30 women to launch their careers into the stratosphere by guaranteeing a championship opportunity at the Grandest Stage of Them All. It can be one of the most unpredictable nights of the year, but which ten superstars already look like potential winners of the 2019 Men’s Royal Rumble?

While there were rumors earlier this year about one of the previous WWE Royal Rumble winners repeating that feat by winning the 2019 Men’s Rumble, that seems unlikely now. That rumor began to circulate in early October, and made sense when Roman Reigns was the Universal Champion, AJ Styles was the WWE Champion, and both were primed to take on veteran opponents. However, things have changed since then.

Later in October, Roman Reigns made the shocking announcement that he’s been diagnosed with leukemia and unfortunately the cancer has returned. Roman was forced to relinquish the Universal Championship, which was subsequently captured by Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. On SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan’s sudden diabolical shift led him to capture the WWE Championship from AJ Styles.

With this vastly different landscape, coupled with the promises by the McMahon Family that WWE is getting a “fresh start” with “new faces,” it seems far less likely now that we’ll get a repeat winner. With that in mind, who are the stars who currently look like potential winners? Who might already have their sights set on WrestleMania?
