SmackDown Tag Team Championship: The Bludgeon Brothers

The wave of momentum the SmackDown Tag Team Championship was on heading into 2018 was much higher than its Raw counterpart.  The feud between The Usos and The New Day raised the bar, but a duo would emerge in 2018 that took the bar and bent it in half.

Harper and Rowan were floundering on the blue brand after The Wyatt Family broke up, but in late-2017, they would form a tag team known as The Bludgeon Brothers that would begin a path of dominance that led to a SmackDown Tag Team Championship win at WrestleMania 34.  They would continue to mow through the competition in the coming weeks and months.

The Bludgeon Brothers turned back the challenges of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and Team Hell No, but on the SmackDown following SummerSlam, The New Day dethroned Harper and Rowan with Rowan being sidelined due to bicep surgery.  The Bludgeon Brothers haven’t been seen on WWE TV since then, but they will be back sooner than later.

The New Day, The Usos, and The Bar have all had successful SmackDown Tag Team Championship reigns this year, but the work of Harper and Rowan stands out the most.  Their run as champions elevated themselves into arguably the most dominant duo in the WWE and made their eventual dropping of the titles that much more meaningful.  The titles have been in good hands since.

Bludgeoning comes naturally to Harper and Rowan, and they earned the right to be called the best SmackDown Tag Team Champions of 2018.
