The Revival vs. Chad Gable and Bobby Roode

Result: Gable and Roode retain via roll-up (Gable on Dawson)

Last week, The Revival earned an opportunity to grab the Raw Tag Team Championships, winning a Fatal Four-Way match to receive this matchup against Chad Gable and Bobby Roode, who won the titles off of the Authors of Pain. Drake Maverick asked for a rematch from Shane McMahon, but Shane stated that rematch clauses are (thankfully) a thing of the past.

So Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder have their golden opportunity tonight, and we’ll see if one of the best tag teams in the world can defeat Gable and Roode, who have done a solid job over the last couple of months.

This match was well-wrestled, with the exchanges between Wilder and Gable being especially good. Roode and Gable tried to go for their doubel team finish, but Wilder got out of it. Gable missed with the moonsault but nearly got a three-count on Wilder with a beautiful suplex before Dawson broke it up. Shortly after, Dawson nearly lost on a lovely roll-up. The counters continued, with Dawson getting out via a sick bridge. Roode had to break up a close pinfall, too, and he helped Gable roll up Dawson for a thrilling pinfall victory.

It looked like The Revival were about to win, but Roode made two huge saves to break up a pinfall and the Shattered Machine.

However, Gable’s win is controversial, because Wilder was actually the legal man! This gives The Revival a legitimate gripe for a rematch, and they could get those Raw Tag Team Titles from Gable and Roode the second time around after coming so close.

Grade: B, This was another well-wrestled match involving these men, and I’d love to see a rematch. The creative controversy at the end only helped matters, so getting more of a storyline brewing between these two teams would be fantastic. The counters between Gable and Dawson at the end of the match were tremendous.
