As 2018 comes to a close and we remember all the great moments the women of WWE gave us this year, we also look forward to what 2019 might bring. Will those Women’s Tag Team Titles finally be made official? Will women get the main event spot at WrestleMania 35?

We got a slew of new firsts for the women of WWE in 2018, one of the most notable being the first-ever women’s Royal Rumble match. Many – if not most – of the match of the year candidates go to the women’s division, which has become the hottest thing going in all of WWE today. But you can safely bet that Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch aren’t spending their time wondering if their Evolution classic will take some WWE.com award for best match of 2018. Instead, they and every other woman on the roster are focused on how to make the next year better than the last.

I’m going out on a limb here and making some bold predictions for the female WWE Superstars in 2019. This ain’t the easy stuff, folks; I’m not talking about tag titles or WrestleMania main events because those things have been teased for a while and are actually quite likely to happen. Some of this stuff is pretty out there, so strap in as I predict some wild women’s wrestling moments for 2019.

Ruby and the Riott Squad Will Run Raw

Maybe they weren’t involved in the highest-profile rivalries this year, but 2018 hasn’t been too bad for the Riott Squad. Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan got off to a bit of a slow start on SmackDown Live last year, but since coming to Monday nights the trio’s been slowly establishing a solid foothold as Raw’s resident lurking bullies.

Specifically, Ruby Riott and Natalya have been embroiled in a deeply personal feud with Riott repeatedly mocking Natalya’s late legendary father, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart. Both women have done some of their best work together and the Riott Squad’s presence in WWE is heavier now than ever. Their stock is definitely on the rise and hopefully WWE can keep them busy through WrestleMania when the annual Superstar Shake-up is bound to give them some delicious new material.

There’s still plenty of magic for the Riott Squad to make with women from both brands, like Ember Moon, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Asuka. Then we’ve got recent and future NXT call-ups like Nikki Cross, Kairi Sane and Mia Yim. With a women’s division this deep and talented there is no end to the list of potential future rivals for the Riott Squad, and let’s not forget the fact that Women’s Tag Team Titles are likely on the horizon. We could be looking at Ruby Riott as Raw Women’s Champion and Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan holding those tag titles, making the Riott Squad a fearsome trio completely draped in gold.
