Andrade “Cien” Almas

It’s been a rough introduction to the main roster for Andrade “Cien” Almas, who has lost several matches since being called up during the Superstar Shakeup after WrestleMania 34. WWE hasn’t been serious about portraying Almas as a legitimate threat in the upper mid-card, though he has impressed fans and, reportedly, backstage officials with his strong in-ring work and intriguing character work.

Almas lost another match this week, falling to Mustafa Ali on Christmas Day. His business associate, Zelina Vega, has been quite upset with SmackDown management, and she is about to take matters into her own hands in 2019.

As the alleged new authority, the WWE Universe is apparently in charge now, and I’m sure most fans want to see Almas pick up some wins in 2018, and he could be a great challenger for Rusev’s United States Championship. A US Title victory would be ideal for Almas, who partnered up with Vega to feud with Rusev and Lana some months ago.

Seeing Almas lose to John Cena may be disappointing on some level, simply because we’ve already seen Almas lose so many matches. However, a last-gasp loss to Cena could be the last straw that Almas needs for Vega to really light a fire underneath a star who is hungry to make a name for himself on the WWE main roster. A barnburner of a match between Almas and Cena could also go a long way in reminding fans why El Idolo is one of the best in the business.
