WWE: 10 Performers With The Best Heel-Work of 2018
via WWE.com
10. The Miz
WWE Superstar. Movie star. Reality tv star. Either way, he’s a star, baby.
Speaking of babies, remember when The Miz threw a fake baby at Daniel Bryan to get the drop on him one night on SmackDown? 2018 was chock full of classic heel antics from the classic textbook heel himself.
Few, if any, baddies this year have gone out of their way to generate the crowd’s ire quite as much as The Miz. He never tries to “WOW” the crowd with flashy moves and he never portrays himself as the trademark “cool” heel.
He’s cowardly, he would rather hide behind his wife and kids than fight his battles, and he would use underhanded tactics before trying to wrestle a match fair and square. In 2018, The Miz truly relished being hated, and we all wanted someone to punch that shawarma-tasting grin off his moneymaker.
In a year that included his Miztourage and his begging to start a tag team with Shane McMahon, the true highlight of Miz’s year was seeing him finally go toe to toe with Daniel Bryan after two years of build-up. The feud’s even more interesting now to look back at in retrospect, seeing as Miz’s heel behavior seems to have rubbed off on Bryan as of late.
When it comes to portraying a heel, The Miz really is among the Best in the World.
