Nia Jax Still Can’t Stand Ronda Rousey As A Champion
Ronda Rousey is still the WWE Raw Women’s Champion after defeating Natalya on last week’s Christmas Eve episode, but she still as an enemy in former champion Nia Jax.
We haven’t seen Nia Jax on WWE Raw as frequently over the past month, but the “Facebreaker” presumably still remains an important part of the roster. Though the incident in which Nia injured Becky Lynch at Survivor Series remains fresh in the mind of the fans, the heat against her, which peaked during the five-on-five match at Survivor Series when Jax costed Sasha Banks and Bayley to pick up the win herself, has largely died down.
That said, the inevitable Nia vs. Becky confrontation at the Royal Rumble remains possible, and Jax did produce yet another excellent match with Ronda Rousey at TLC. It wasn’t enough to steal the show from the main event Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match fought among Becky, Asuka, and Charlotte Flair – this match was likely the main roster’s second-best bout of 2018 – but it was probably one of the three best matches on the card in total.
Rousey and Nia can work magic together in the ring, and Jax reminded fans on Twitter that she still has no love lost for the current Raw Women’s Champion. Nia and the rest of the Raw Women’s Division are competing at a WWE Live Event in Chicago, but Jax called out Rousey for not being there with the rest of the roster.

After tearing down the house at Money in the Bank and TLC, the story that Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey have told in WWE is likely in the books for now. Rousey will focus her attention on Becky and Charlotte for a potential WrestleMania match, while Nia, who won the Raw Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss at WrestleMania 34 in a feel-good moment, has an uncertain future heading into WrestleMania season.
Nia’s Twitter account is a goldmine for calling out other wrestlers and trolling, and she does a great job of annoying fans. She’s the heel everyone loves to hate, but she’ll need to keep working hard to make sure that the “boo’s” stay and don’t simply turn into silence.
WWE has been using her on Raw frequently even in the aftermath of the unfortunate incident in November, and it’s likely she and Tamina will play a key role on the road to the new Women’s Tag Team Championships. While they aren’t the favorites to win, Nia and Tamina are definitely candidates to snag the tag titles.
