7. Bianca Belair

Rounding out 2018 as the number one contender to Shayna Baszler’s crown, Belair is on fire right now. She’s been one of the most exciting prospects in the women’s division since her performance in the first Mae Young Classic.

Belair has it all. She’s insanely strong: military-pressing her opponents clean over her head with apparent ease. She’s agile, pulling off a 450 splash in the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royale. And she’s charismatic to boot: her cheerfully antagonistic manner and confident swagger makes her stand out from the crowd.

With a powerhouse moveset that puts her in league with the likes of Chyna and Beth Phoenix, Belair is a unique presence not just in NXT, but in WWE’s women’s division as a whole. A bevy of unique selling points make Belair a shoo-in for future champion, and though it’s unlikely she’ll take Baszler down on her first attempt, there’s absolutely no reason why her title shot shouldn’t be the start of something big for Belair.

She may still be a little green around the edges, but that’s entirely reasonable when you consider that she’s only been wrestling since 2016. For someone to show the abundant potential that Belair does after such a short space of time is surely indicative of a natural ability which should be honed and polished.

NXT is, after all, a developmental brand, and the ideal space for someone with Belair’s promise to develop into the full-fledged star she’s clearly capable of being.

A shot at the big time is exactly what Belair needs to take her to the next level, and with her strength, confident and athletic ability, she’s every bit the legitimate challenger to Baszler’s crown.
