It’s finally 2019, and that means it’s time for new first impressions. After a strong 2018 that featured some of their best pay-per-view events in years, Impact Wrestling looks to set the tone for 2019 with Homecoming. Die-hard fans and new fans alike shouldn’t sleep on Homecoming, which has the potential to be a truly special night featuring several unforgettable matches. Who are the favorites? Who looks poised to start 2019 with a huge win?

Homecoming has big shoes to fill when you look at last year’s Impact Wrestling pay-per-views. While all three were spectacular, Slammiversary XVI stood as one of the best wrestling events of 2018. Not only the best we’ve seen from Impact Wrestling in years, but a few of 2018’s best matches. Pentagon Jr. and Sami Callihan’s Mask vs. Hair Match and the 5150 Street Fight for the Impact World Tag Team Titles being among them.

It’s a lot to live up to, but the card for Homecoming definitely looks like an event that can get the job done. We’ve got hardcore endings to bitter rivalries, marquee title matches, and the return of Ultimate X. Here, we’ll take a look at what makes each match special, what’s brought us here, and who looks poised to leave Homecoming with a big win to start 2019.
