WWE SmackDown Predictions: Becky Lynch Becomes #1 Contender

WWE SmackDown Live truly becomes the land of opportunity this week with two major number 1 contenders matches! Who could we see come out of these matches as title challengers at Royal Rumble?

Sometimes it feels like if we’ve heard it once in WWE, we’ve likely heard it a thousand times before. “SmackDown Live is the land of opportunity!” is one of those sayings that has just been hammered into fans’ heads for what feels like forever now.

This week, however, that saying is more than just a phrase. It’s reality.

The reality is that SmackDown is providing us with two major number 1 contenders matches that will likely plot out the remaining championship picture for the brand at Royal Rumble featuring some of the brand’s hottest stars.

Likely headlining the show itself will be a triple threat between Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, and Carmella to determine who will challenge Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Royal Rumble.

After the thrilling five-way number 1 contenders main event last week, its great to see that SmackDown will continue giving fans spectacular headlining match-ups, at least for another week.

On top of another potential pay-per-view level main event, we’re getting The Usos in a tag team match against The Bar. If The Usos are victorious, then they will have earned themselves a future shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, albeit not necessarily at Royal Rumble.

While The Usos have received no shortage of opportunities lately, they remain one of the most entertaining teams in all of WWE, and will surely put on another great match against The Bar.

Those two matches alone immediately make SmackDown a must-see affair this week.

Only time will tell though if those matches could push the show to surpass what appears to be a loaded Raw card. Fortunately, they will also likely be receiving some help in crafting a show that surpasses the red brand from SmackDown’s incredibly intriguing WWE Championship scene.
