Kay Lee Ray, Jazzy Gabert Were In The Crowd At NXT TakeOver: Blackpool

WWE NXT UK’s Women’s Division contains some of the best wrestlers in the world with Toni Storm, Charlie Morgan, Jinny, Nina Samuels, Isla Dawn, and champion Rhea Ripley on the brand. Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert appeared at the TakeOver: Blackpool show, so it seems that the division has added two major players.

On a show that featured an epic tag match between Moustache Mountain and the Grizzled Young Vets, a surprise appearance from Finn Balor who faced his former “student” Jordan Devlin, and a No DQ match between Eddie Dennis and Dave Mastiff to that point, Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert took some spotlight of their own prior to the highly-anticipated United Kingdom Women’s Championship match between Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley.

The NXT cameras panned to the audience where Kay Lee Ray and Jazzy Gabert were shown, and the WWE Universe has hyped up their future involvement with the rising NXT UK brand, which had been putting on an absolute show for the fired-up Blackpool audience at their first ever TakeOver Special.

KLR and Gabert are two of the best women’s wrestlers on the world, and both women appeared in WWE for the first Mae Young Classic. Though Kay Lee Ray surprising lost in the first round, the “Alpha Female” Gabert made quite the impression before an injury prevented her from signing with WWE.

Gabert appears to be back, and KLR could be set to join the brand once she finishes up with World of Sport, where she and Viper had a rivalry for the ages.

Squared Circle Sirens wrote that per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer News, Bea Priestley has also received an offer from WWE.

NXT UK has seemingly already announced KLR’s involvement with this appearance on TakeOver: Blackpool as a famed crowd participant, which is how NXT typically announces high-profile additions to the roster. It will be interesting to see if Priestley or even Viper follow suit soon.

The UK brand has a chance to be special, not only because the social media and live crowd hype TakeOver: Blackpool has received, but also because of the talent roster. If WWE takes their NXT UK Women’s Division seriously, it could be among the best in the world with Killer Kelly, Storm, Morgan, Jinny, Ripley, and more already there.

Gabert and KLR would make the division that much more stacked, and it would be exciting to see how they are used in storylines, assuming they’ve signed, in addition to how they’d help others on the roster. And I bet big signings are coming for this growing division.
