A new WWE Intercontinental Champion was crowned and Finn Balor earned the right to face Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. On such an eventful week, what were the biggest questions the superstars left in the ring?

This week in the WWE, the build towards the Royal Rumble brought a twist to the tale. Creative once again managed to bring some kind of freshness into the opening segment of Raw, which ended with Braun Strowman being stripped of his Universal Title shot.

Instead, John Cena, Finn Balor, Drew McIntyre, and Baron Corbin went to battle to determine a new number one contender. To the joy of the fans, Balor pinned Cena of all people to earn the right to face Lesnar at the Rumble.

Elsewhere on the show, Bobby Lashley captured the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his WWE career. This was also the first time “The All Mighty” struck gold since his return to the company.

Due credit has to be given to Lio Rush, who might be the most versatile, entertaining, and annoying manager all at once. Monday night also created further tension between Sasha Banks and Ronda Rousey on top of revealing the upcoming Women’s Tag Team Championships.

A huge upset unfolded before our eyes on Tuesday, signaling perhaps 2019 will indeed be the year of Almas. He managed to defeat the Master of the 619, Rey Mysterio, with a little help from Zelina Vega. Becky Lynch and Asuka tried to one up each other at the expense of the IIconics, and Samoa Joe did what he does best.

With so much happening in the ring and outside the ring, what are the biggest questions from the week though? Let’s get right to it.
