3. Asuka Should Have A Long Reign With A WrestleMania Match
Asuka’s SmackDown Women’s Championship victory at TLC was a huge step in the right direction, and her work on television since then has also been worth complimenting. She’s always been one of the best wrestlers in the world, and now WWE is finally giving her an opportunity to showcase her in-ring dominance and charisma to their worldwide audience.
It only makes sense for a wrestler like Asuka, who held the NXT Women’s Championship with so much class, to enjoy a lengthy reign with the valuable SmackDown Women’s Championship. Having strong champions who hold the title for a lengthy period of time only increases the stock of said title, and Asuka is as capable as anyone on the WWE roster of putting together scintillating matches; she’s also shown that she can work well with any opponent.
There would be a number of different opponents for her at WrestleMania, too. Ideally, a singles match would be in the cards for Asuka, and perhaps a match with former tag team partner Naomi could work. Though many intriguing opponents, such as former rival Ember Moon, currently find themselves on the Raw roster, Asuka can have a great match with anyone on SmackDown.
Though it is entirely possible for the potential Becky vs. Ronda vs. Charlotte Triple Threat at WrestleMania 35 (or straight-up Becky/Ronda singles match) to be for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, the prevailing belief among fans is that they will compete for the Raw Women’s Championship. After all, Vince McMahon likes the Raw brand to have the spotlight and be seen as the superior brand (6-1 at Survivor Series), regardless of the impending FOX deal.
So that means the SmackDown Women’s Championship needs to have the strongest possible champion holding the title, and it would be awesome for WWE to show faith in Asuka by keeping the title on her for a few more months. She’s excellent in so many ways, and she has earned the opportunity to be a huge star on the main roster, and
