It’s Now Or Never For War Raiders To Become NXT Champions

After already losing in an NXT Tag Team Championship match to Undisputed Era once, War Raiders need to get redemption this weekend to finally get the chance to lead NXT’s tag division.

War Raiders are one of the most entertaining tag teams in NXT today. Hanson and Rowe have a lethal combination of size and athleticism that makes all of their matches hard-hitting spectacles to watch.

Those in-ring abilities, combined with a large amount of growing fan support, clearly indicates they are ready to carry NXT’s tag team division. The problem is, WWE hasn’t given them the chance.

Over the past few months, War Raiders have been embroiled in a thrilling title feud with Undisputed Era. In fact, the rivalry has already produced a great title match on the October 17th episode of NXT:

After losing that championship bout, while still looking strong in the process I might add, War Raiders were able to recoup and rebound to face Undisputed Era again in an epic WarGames match.

Massive melees occurred both in the match, and well before it on weekly NXT TV. In practically all of those encounters, War Raiders were able to look like the dominating tag team force we know them to be when they were given a fair chance against the villainous stable

At WarGames, War Raiders were even eventually successful in vanquishing Undisputed Era, albeit with more than a little help from Ricochet and Pete Dunne.

Now, with more than enough momentum on their side, War Raiders head into NXT Takeover: Phoenix looking to take the tag belts away from Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong.

With all that momentum behind them however, War Raiders head into this match carrying a certain amount of risk.

The devastating team’s rivalry with Undisputed Era is arguably at its natural climax. There’s nothing left to build or develop in the feud. At this point, both teams have put all their cards on the table on more than one occasion.

If Hanson and Rowe aren’t successful this weekend, then they will have likely burned through all of their opportunities at facing O’Reilly and Strong for the tag titles. At that point, it won’t matter how fit they are to carry the division. They’ll likely be pushed all the way to the back of the line behind other up-and-coming teams like Street Profits and Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.

If WWE intends upon giving War Raiders an opportunity to truly run the NXT tag team division, like they deserve, then Hanson and Rowe will have to leave NXT Takeover: Phoenix with gold in their clutches.
