WWE: Aleister Black’s Elimination Of Dean Ambrose Could Foreshadow An Epic Feud

The Men’s Royal Rumble gave us plenty of debuts and surprise eliminations. One of the most noteworthy surprises came in the form of Aleister Black’s Rumble entrance. Not only did we see the former NXT Champion make an introduction to the main roster, but the former NXT Champion received a potential feud for when he officially leaps to the big stage.

One night after failing to recapture the NXT Championship, Aleister Black tried to punch his ticket to WrestleMania in the WWE Royal Rumble. While he failed in his attempt, being eliminated by Baron Corbin, he made his nearly seven minutes in the match count.

Black eliminated one man, but that man wasn’t just any man. It was none other than former WWE Champion and Intercontinental Champion, Dean Ambrose.

Other than the prestige that comes with eliminating a guy with Ambrose’s resume, Black eliminating the former Shield member could be planting a seed for Black’s first feud in his arrival to the main roster

Admittedly, we’re not sure if Aleister Black is making the jump to the main roster any time soon. We would assume he would be since he has nothing else left to accomplish in NXT, but seeing as how he’ll be appearing on the upcoming NXT Halftime Heat show makes us think otherwise. However, if he is making the jump sooner rather than later, there is no better person to feud with to start his main roster run than with Dean Ambrose.

It’s not just because Black eliminated Ambrose from the Royal Rumble with a Black Mass to the outside. A feud between these two would also align well with their consistent character motivations, especially in Ambrose’s case. In his feud with Rollins from last fall, Ambrose has been all about cleansing himself and of the sin he sees in the world; particularly the sin sprouting from his brothers.

In the same breath, rather than just seek vengeance in his feud with Johnny Gargano, Black was hellbent on absolving Gargano of his sins in light of his character change. In the same light, Ambrose’s has had his own character change that’s afforded him some sins worth absolving.

Regardless of their storyline-driven motivations, Dean Ambrose and Aleister Black are both great wrestlers who would have great chemistry together. If WWE decided to go in that direction, Ambrose would be an excellent choice for Black’s first main roster feud and opponent.
